Our Production Facility In The Black Forest

In our Schönau brush factory, we combine decades of traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology. We produce between 6 and 8 million brushes annually, each representing the highest quality, precision, and durability.

Our commitment to efficiency and perfection is reflected in every step to the process: with a highly modern machinery and an experienced team, we ensure that innovative processes and proven know-how create brushes that impress.

Production Process

In-House Wooden Body Production

For our brushes, we use carefully selected wood, which we purchase on plank format. In our modern wood drying system, it is brought to the optimum moisture level, an important prerequisite for stability and dimensional accuracy in further processing.

The dried wood then undergoes several precise processing steps. It is sawn, planed, milled, and sanded. This is how precisely fitting wooden bodies are created in our machinery, which from the basis for the quality and durability of brushes.

Varnishing

After the production of the wooden bodies, we offer the possibility of color finishing them according to customer requirements. In our varnishing area, the woods are provided with high-quality coatings in various shades, for an appeling appearance and additional surface protection.

This results in brushes that are not only functionally convincing, but also visually meet the expentations of our customers.

In addition to wooden bodies, we also process plastic bodies that are specially made for us. In close cooperation with two regional plastic injection modeling companies, we have these manufactured using our own molds, precisely fitting and in consistently high quality.

Veredlung

In our in-house finishing department, we bring your brand directly to the product. On request, our brushes receive an individual finish, be it for advertising purposes, for marketing or for a uniform appearance. Various methods are available:

  • Pad impring – ideal for multi-colored logos or lettering; implemented using clichés.
  • Hot-foil-imprint – for an elegant and permanently durable marking; realized with embossing stamps.
  • Laser engraving – particularly precise and durable, even for fine details.

Thanks to the direct implementation in our company, we guarantee short distances, full control over the quality and the maximum flexibility fir individual customer requests. Regardless of which method you choose: We make sure that every brush bears your name to match the product design.

Bristling

Bristling is the central and most important step in our brush production. In our production, we use state-of-the-art bristle inserting machines that combine precisio, efficiency, and versatility.

We process a wide range of materials, from natural fibers such as horsehair and goat hair to technical plastics such as nylon or even bronze wire. Each material is carfully selected and professionally processed, tailored to the respective application of the brush.

A look at history shown how much our craft has envolved: At the beginning of the 1940s, an employee needed around three hours to bristle a single brush. Today, with the help of modern technology, he produces up to 1,500 pieces per hour without compromising on th quality or care.

Material Origin

Quality begins with selection of raw materials.

For us, it is not only the result that counts, but also the path to get there. Thats why we attach great importance to the origin and quality of our raw materials. Whenever possible, we source our raw materials from regional or national suppliers in order to guarantee short delivery times, transparent supply chains and responsible production.

Whenther wood, packaging or plastic, our long-term, partners stand for reliability, sustainability and consistently high quality, the best basis for our brushes “Made in Germany”.

Wood From Regional Forests

For us, wood is far more than just a material, it is the basis of our work. That is why we attach great importance to origin, quality and sustainability. our raw wood comes exclusively from regional forests that are managed responsibly and according to recognized forestry standards.

By purchasing from PEFC-certified companies from the surrounding area, we ensure that the wood used comes from controlled sources. PEFC certification stands for complete traceability, fair working conditions in forestry and the log-term preservation of near-natural forests.

Short transport routes reduce environmental pollution, strengthen the regional economy and enable close, trusting cooperation with our log-term partners. At the same time, this gives us full control over the quality of our raw material at all times, a decisive factor for the longevity and value of our brush products.

For us, sustainability does not end with the finished product, it begins with the selection of wood.

Packaging

We also focus on sustainability and environmental awarness when it somes to our packaging. In most cases, our cardboard boxes are made from 100 % recycled material, an active constribution to conserving resources and avoiding waste.

We work with certified partners who produce their packaging materials according to strict guidelines of the FSC® standard(Forest Stewardship Council®). In this way, we ensure that our products are not only packaged to a high quality, but are also processed and delivered taking ecologcal and economic aspects into account.
