This summer, District Administrator Marion Dammann, together with Alexander Maas, managing director of Wirtschaftsregion Südwest GmbH, and Torsten Clement, the economic affairs representative for the Lörrach district, visited three companies, including Frank Bürsten GmbH. The discussions focused on the companies’ location development, entrepreneurial innovation strategies, and current economic policy conditions.

During a tour, the guests were shown the company’s production processes and learned about its current development. The entrepreneurial couple, Katharina Hackner and Stefan Ganzmann, presented the evolution of the family-owned business: from traditional brush manufacturing in the Upper Wiesental to today’s medium-sized specialist in shoe care and European market leader. Another topic of discussion was the construction of a new warehouse and logistics facility in 2024, funded by the Rural Development Program. The company is using the space freed up in the existing building to expand its digitally controlled machinery and optimize its logistics processes.
